I’ve been working with socially excluded individuals in a variety of settings for nearly 11 years. I started out working in forensic mental health with male mentally disordered offenders. From there I moved into a more specialist role as a drug and alcohol group facilitator for adults with psychotic illness. After this I turned my hand to working with adolescents in schools. I facilitated workshops to educate children on their emotional health and wellbeing, specifically focused on the relationship between substances and mental health. My current role as a dual diagnosis practitioner with homeless people in central London has allowed me to combine my interests in mental health and social inclusion.

I have a profound belief in the need for more education and awareness around the mental wellbeing of young people as it impacts their lives in the present and the future. Something that has always fascinated me about mental health is that we can always learn more. A large part of my enjoyment in facilitating the Youth MHFA course, is knowing that the people I train can then go on and make a huge difference in the lives of young people.
